In the high desert city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rob Martinez lives with his wife Janice, playing the traditional Hispanic music of his native land. Along with his father, Roberto, and his brother, Lorenzo, Rob preserves and promotes New Mexican Hispano culture, playing guitar and singing corridos, inditas, and other unique music forms. Rob also enjoys composing and performing songs in English, recording with his friend and long time drummer Kurt Oelsner, and other local musicians. Besides a passion for music, Rob is also a research historian and lecturer, studying original archaic documents concerning New Mexico’s Spanish Colonial and Mexican roots. In fact, Rob has researched in archives throughout Mexico, Spain, France, and Italy, working for the Sephardic Legacy Project of New Mexico. Rob also teaches World History and Hispanic Studies at Rio Rancho High School in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
